Finishing Up!

These are some of the final custom orders I've been finishing up... I have one more pair to go!  

On a serious note... if you are a crafter or sewer! 

Please make sure to read ALL instructions on any fabric glues or chemicals before attempting to use them!  I say this in all seriousness!  The other night I was trying to open my Fray-Check and the bottle exploded and some of the glue splashed in my eye (not to mention on my sewing table, project and other things!).  I immediately rushed to the sink and flushed my eye out... and when I called the eye clinic just to see if they thought it was something I needed checked out - they didn't hesitate to tell me to RUSH over to their office.  Luckily, after some thorough examination, my eye is fine.  The doctor found a little bit on my lower lid, but was able to get it out (said I must've done a good job on my own flushing  my eye out) - and there seems to be no damage.  I didn't ever realize that the packaging said WEAR PROTECTIVE EYE WEAR.  After what happened to me, I definitely will heed those instructions and read any new instructions on future products!  The chemicals in that glue are especially nasty!!

Custom Orders!

I had some custom orders... and here are the finished products!

The bottom picture is probably my favorite pair of all time!  

Made for someone expecting a baby girl around the

same time we're expecting our little one!  I hope she likes them!

It's never too soon to start gearing up for Christmas, is it?

I've been MIA for awhile. 

 I found out in May that I am pregnant with #2... 

so making shoes took a back seat to getting some rest!  

But I've been on a roll again, so I hope you like what you see!

Adorable Dots!

Well, I ended up putting the Care Bear shoes on the back 

burner as I have been working on another project for my cousin's baby shower!  

However, I got an order for some "Girly" Summer Shoes... so I whipped up these cuties.

  

Don't you just love the polka dots?  

I'm very happy with the way they turned out!

This fun Care Bear fabric is going to be next up on my list of shoes to make!

I'm excited to see how they turn out!

Easter Shoes!

I made my daughter some Easter shoes this afternoon while she napped!  

They fit great and she seems to love them (as she loves ALL shoes)!!

I simply lined these ones with cotton instead of fleece to 

accommodate the coming warmer weather!

We'll see how they hold up over the next few months!

Cord-o-holic!

I love corduroy! 

 I'm not sure why.  

It's just fabric.  

But something about it makes me happy!

  

I've always wanted to make myself a big corduroy patchwork blanket.  

Maybe someday when I'm old I'll do that for myself.  

In the meantime... 

I intend to use my LARGE stash of cord on some Shoepiddy Doos!

Really, I have so much corduroy stored, it's ridiculous.

I went through a phase of raiding the corduroy on sale (this was years ago, of course)...

I was out of control!! Seriously.

I have this really great wide-wale that I really want to work with... 

but I think it might be a bit of a challenge unless I get a different needle for my machine.

Until then, I'll be working with the small-wale cord!

My Favorites So Far!

I had found this adorable fabric a few years ago when I was on a kick of making tote bags.  

It is really nice and thick - might even be an upholstery fabric now that I think about it!  

It made for some really great totes!  

When I found the scraps in my fabric pile, I knew I had to make a couple of pairs of shoes!

Shoepiddy Doos!

I've started this blog as a way to showcase some of the adorable soft shoes that I've been sewing.  I hope you will enjoy seeing what I have created and continue to create!  

Sometimes my sewing is slow-going due to the fact that I only work when my daughter naps... but I am grateful for the time I do get to put in and look forward to seeing what else I can whip up!
